Patient Benefits

Patients enjoy high-quality, personalized care in the comfort of their own environment, which enhances access to care by avoiding long wait times and exposure to other illnesses in a crowded waiting room.

Patients are not rushed through busy clinics or emergency departments for care. Traditional healthcare practices such as offices and EDs can miss important health factors such as impairments in instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) and/or mobility related activities of daily living (MRADL).

Our providers use a holistic patient-centered and family-centered approach to care by spending time assessing the patients’ health and environment. We educate our patients/caregivers in order to provide well-informed options in their care.

By providing in-home primary medical care instead of a traditional medical office setting, our providers are able to identify some patient needs that an office-based provider would not be able to find. For example, maybe the patient could have a much greater quality of life, if they had certain medical devices to assist them with their day-to-day activities. Many providers would not be able to identify these needs without seeing the patient in their own environment.

Without an in-home medical visit to see how patients perform IADLs other providers may be reluctant to sign-off on certain medical equipment, because they are unable to understand the complexities the patients have in their everyday activities and don’t feel the patient truly needs it.

House calls medical programs can help seniors “age in place” and delay or avoid nursing home admission. Studies demonstrate early intervention in chronic disease management using community-based resources delays nursing home placement and in some cases avoids placement altogether.

Our providers understand the value of improved quality of life, functioning, and independence. Home medical care (house calls) offer lower out-of-pocket expenses compared to co-pays or deductibles associated with medical transportation and/or ER care.

Family and Caregiver Benefits

Family and caregivers of patients reduce time away from work and increase quality time with their loved ones though house calls rather than the hassles of office visits or trips to ER.

Since the primary care visits take place in the patient’s home, family and caregivers do not have to take time away from work (or at least not as frequently) in order to get the patient to a traditional medical office to see their provider or have lab drawn, ect.

Some patients may still want to maintain their regular medical provider, but are only able to manage an office visit once or twice a year. More frequent medical visits are usually recommended to manage multiple complex chronic conditions.

Our providers achieve a better understanding of family/caregiver emotional support and needs through house calls, which also helps us determine and coordinate community support programs available for caregivers/family.
